Review: Sally Hansen Color Foil

I have been on the hunt for the new Sally Hansen Color Foil nail polishes. In particular I needed  the color 'rose copper'. I seriously needed this like I needed air and finally found it at Target for $6.99. A little more than I like to spend but I felt like it was worth it.

The weird thing about this polish is that it tells you not to use a base or top coat. I realized this after I had already used both.

So backing up a little, I painted my nails1 streaky coat then 2 more and they looked super streaky and the polish was clumped up on my nails. I put on a top coat to smooth things over and my nails looked yellow and worse. I was ready to find my receipt, write a negative review and call up Sally Hansen when I noticed that the back of the bottle says "for best results, use without base or top coat." I had heard so much people talk about this line of colors and seen so many instagrams that looked nothing like my gross, ratchet manicure.

I decided to take off all the polish and do exactly what the bottle told me; apply 2 coats without a base or top coats and DAMN. I was impressed. The photo at the very top of this post shows the full manicure.

My nails were dry in under 5 minutes. I mean dry like no dents or chips, rub your nails together, eat a sandwich, do yard work dry. They were rock solid and the color was beautiful. It wasn't this peed on penny type of color but instead a gorgeous, rose gold that I love.

Basically, I love this color and style of nails. They looked so beautiful for a day but here is where the problem lies; because you can't use a top coat, the polish starts to chip by the next day. You may be able to add a top coat after the polish has completely dried but I'm too afraid of that nasty yellow color coming back. Overall, I would say these polishes are fun to try but the concept isn't perfect yet. 

An average day in my life: spring break

I normally shoot an outfit post if I wear something that I like or something that looks good and I want to share. Today, I liked what I wore but did't feel like showing it. Instead I decided to take a little photo walk through my day. Nothing special, just just what I did. Just a little photo journal on my iPhone. 

Of course I started off the day with breakfast; it is the most important meal of the day after all. I normally make some eggs with sriracha, a muffin top and some fruit. My food is never that pretty looking so here is my delicious watermelon instead. 

I also painted my nails. Nothing special just a little red. This color is 'something new' from sally hansen diamond line. 

Of course I threw in a little outfit selfie sort of thing. I really like to just sit around outside with my dog. 

I have such a love-hate relationship with dollar stores. I went in for these fake flowers because I love flowers but real ones are expensive and they die. I have a few flower vases in my room filled with these fakes. I picked up those, some yard sale price stickers for a yard sale we're doing soon, and some iron on transfer sheets to make tshirts with. (ps these were complete crap and did not work even a bit)

Oh the thrift store. I try to stop by the Salvation Army store whenever I'm around. They're closed Sundays and for some reason I always want to go on a Sunday but I finally went on a Friday. I found this awesome cropped little sweater tank top thing that is totally Rachel/Monica style 90s and some high waisted loose fitting jeans. Ok they're mom jeans but I'm going to do all sorts of stuff to them and they will be cute. (You'll see them in a OOTD post soon enough)

Finally for dinner I got Chipotle. I would have taken a picture but that whole meal was in my tummy in seconds. I ate all the chips on the way home. Seriously those are the best chips ever; they limey and salty and great and I could eat the all day. I normally get a salad there with white rice, chicken, mild salsa, some cheese or sour cream and their dressing. It is delicious and not as heavy as a burrito. 

Kiss nail dress review

This is going to be a quick one guys. I got these sent to me by Influenster.

So these are nail stickers that come in assortments of styles. It seems simple: choose the size that fits, stick them on, file off the excess. Not quite so easy. 

It took me about 25 minutes to put these on. You would think they would look perfect after that but no. I tried my best but wound up with bubbles and parts of the sticker were sticking to each other. 

I wasn't a huge fan of the set I got. Neon, cheetah and zebra print is not really my thing. That being said, I felt like I should give them a shot.

If you try these out, do them in a ventilated area because these smell like poison. Much worse than normal nail polish. 

The removal process was the worst.  They claim you can remove them in seconds with no remover. This is kind of contradicting because they're supposed to last long but you can just peel them off? 

No quite. I was left with sticky glue all over my nails.

You can't tell in the photo but, these look rough. 

Overall I would not recommend these.
