♡Quick tip: curl hair away from your face♡

If you've ever watched someone teach you how to curl your hair in a Youtube video, you've heard the phrase "curl away fro your face". But wtf does that mean? To get more volume in your hair curl away from the face. I’ve had friends and strangers ask how I do my hair like this and figured I would share for those who also don’t know this simple trick.

Start out with the clamp of the iron facing outward.

Wind the iron around and curl as you usually would.

That's all. I hope I helped out at least someone. Doing this makes your hair look more pushed back, gives it a bit more volume and has a more modern look.

How to stretch out shoes

Do you ever come across a shoe aisle and find a pair you need? Then you notice they're on sale so you really need them? But then they only have a 7 1/2 or 8 1/2 but you wear an 8? Because this happens to me constantly. Maybe a normal person would just sigh and walk away but how can you leave behind the world's cutest shoes that are on sale for $25?! Really I'm asking because I can't. When this happens I always buy the smaller size and stretch them out.

Today I'm going to teach you have to stretch your shoes.

Method 1
You will need:
The shoes that are too small
Thick socks- at least 2 pairs but the more the better (I'll explain later)
A hot blow dryer

Put on your socks. You want the have one pair for now. This will start the stretching process. Put the shoes on. This may be difficult because they're already too small and you've just crammed a big socked foot into them.
Now turn on the hair dryer on high and move it around the outside of the shoes. Try to move your feet in any way you can to get the leather more pliable. Do this for a bit and make sure to move the dryer around. You don't want to burn your shoes or your feet.
See how well the shoes fit without the socks on. If you still need them stretched more, throw on the first pair of socks then a second and repeat the process.

Method 2
One of my friends taught me this one forever ago and this work if you don't have the time to sit around blow drying your feet but do have overnight.

You will need:
The shoes that are too small
Plastic ziploc bags
Water

All you need to do for this method is to take a bag and fill it halfway with water. Next squeeze all the excess air out and place the bag in the shoe. I normal double bag it just for extra measure. Now throw your shoes in the freezer overnight and the water will freeze and expand.

Healthy and easy homemade ice cream- only 2 ingredients

Everyone made their New Year's resolution to eat healthier right? And you could totally handle until you found some ice cream in the freezer and binge ate the entire carton while watching The Notebook. I have a really easy recipe that only requires 2 ingredients. I'm not saying this is necessarily healthy but that may depend on your take of healthy food. This is not clean or raw or vegan or anything like that but its so much better than Ben and Jerrys (sorry I know I love them too) or Breyers. It takes similar to ice cream or gelato.

You're only going to need frozen fruit (I think mango works the best) and cool whip. You can use the fat free or any variation of it.

Take them out of the freezer and let them soften just a little.

Next throw these into your Nutribullet/blender/food processor. I use my nurtibullet but any kitchen gadget of this type will work. Add one heaping tablespoon of cool whip per handful of mango.

Blend it, scraping the sides often. You can blend this for longer if you want is really smooth or for less if you want a few chunks in it. 30 seconds give or take will be fine.

Throw the mixture back in the freezer for a few minutes. While the fruit is being blended I find it sometimes thaws a bit too much.
Now enjoy your healthier whipped fruit dessert. Feel free to add some chopped nuts or any other healthy topping.

How to groom your eyebrows at home

I love good eyebrows but I hate the look of super drawn on and over filled on brows that seems to be more and more popular now. I've found the perfect way to fill mine in but keep them looking natural. This is going to be a two part post. This part will be about how I keep mine in shape and the other will be all about how I fill them in.

First I use tweezers and pull those small hairs that grow way under my brows. The trick to this is to pull out only hairs that are completely off from your natural brow shape. Also don't use a magnifying mirror or sit too close to your normal one. You don't need to have them look perfect close up. This is how people tend to pluck their brows into having only 4 hairs left. I do this about once a week or so.
Next I use an eyebrow razor. You can find these in packs at the drugstore. you wants to hold it horizontally then slide it down. This allows you to remove a lot of hair at once. I find this is the fastest and easiest way to take care of the uni-brow area.

I don't trim mine with a scissor. I find this removes too much hair. You can find out how I actually fill in my brows here

How to clean out candle jars

Pinterest is great and the diy section is better. I see so many pins about reusing candles. Now I really love candles and the jars are great for re-using but how the hell do you get that "dead" candle out of there.

You will need the candle duh. I got mine from Bath and Body Works. (to see more things I bought from BBW click here) You will also need hot water. I boiled mine in a small pot but you really just need hot water and some sort of bowl. Then you can use a hair dryer but that's optional.

1. Put your full candle in the pot of water and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes. The wax will start to melt from the bottom up. (if this is taking too long or you would like to speed up the process you can use the hair dryer to melt it) Once the bottom is completely melted- basically enough that its not attached to the glass anymore- *carefully* dump out the candle in the trash. DO NOT POUR THIS DOWN THE DRAIN THE WAX WILL HARDEN AND YOU WILL HAVE THE BIGGEST MESS OF YOUR LIFE.

2. Take your empty candle jar and wash it out. Just scrub both the inside and outside of it.

3. Now you have an empty candle. While its still hot peel off any labels. Trust me here do it while its hot and just be careful. The heat will have loosed the glue and the labels should fall off. Also if you are left with crap from the glue you can add some alcohol to the water and soak it until it comes off. I didn't have this problem though.

4. Now dry your candle and you have a clean jar that you can diy to your heart's desire.
