Women in New York have been rocking this trend for years, perhaps out of necessity rather than fashion. Sneakers can be paired with just about anything to make it casual and comfortable. A comfy pair of running shoes look great with skirts and dresses or jeans and a leather jacket. Many designers at fashion week like Tommy Hilfiger, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Balenciaga, and Alexander Wang all showed pieces with this common trend in mind. I'm not a huge fan of this trend but I love the idea of sneakers to dress down an outfit.
Of course men have been wearing sneakers on the daily but, now women's time has come. Fashion star celebs like Rihanna and Rita Ora love wearing sneakers.

That one time it was actually spring: OOTD
♡I love New York, I really do but it was 85 out on day and snowed the next. Today was spent running around my hometown with old friends. Sitting in the grass with my dog and my friends really feels like summer. I needed something was, comfortable and not too hot. ♡

An average day in my life: spring break
I normally shoot an outfit post if I wear something that I like or something that looks good and I want to share. Today, I liked what I wore but did't feel like showing it. Instead I decided to take a little photo walk through my day. Nothing special, just just what I did. Just a little photo journal on my iPhone.
Of course I started off the day with breakfast; it is the most important meal of the day after all. I normally make some eggs with sriracha, a muffin top and some fruit. My food is never that pretty looking so here is my delicious watermelon instead.
I also painted my nails. Nothing special just a little red. This color is 'something new' from sally hansen diamond line.
Of course I threw in a little outfit selfie sort of thing. I really like to just sit around outside with my dog.
I have such a love-hate relationship with dollar stores. I went in for these fake flowers because I love flowers but real ones are expensive and they die. I have a few flower vases in my room filled with these fakes. I picked up those, some yard sale price stickers for a yard sale we're doing soon, and some iron on transfer sheets to make tshirts with. (ps these were complete crap and did not work even a bit)
Oh the thrift store. I try to stop by the Salvation Army store whenever I'm around. They're closed Sundays and for some reason I always want to go on a Sunday but I finally went on a Friday. I found this awesome cropped little sweater tank top thing that is totally Rachel/Monica style 90s and some high waisted loose fitting jeans. Ok they're mom jeans but I'm going to do all sorts of stuff to them and they will be cute. (You'll see them in a OOTD post soon enough)
Finally for dinner I got Chipotle. I would have taken a picture but that whole meal was in my tummy in seconds. I ate all the chips on the way home. Seriously those are the best chips ever; they limey and salty and great and I could eat the all day. I normally get a salad there with white rice, chicken, mild salsa, some cheese or sour cream and their dressing. It is delicious and not as heavy as a burrito.

Its 45° in April: OOTD
♡I don't have a lot to say about this one because I only had one shot for it. Its April, why is it 45 degrees outside? I really hate the cold and I miss the years where spring was warm. To make a bad joke: isn't it supposed to be global warming?! The colors of my outfit represent the way I feel about this frigidness. Jk but isn't that a nice coincidence ♡

♡Quick tip: curl hair away from your face♡
If you've ever watched someone teach you how to curl your hair in a Youtube video, you've heard the phrase "curl away fro your face". But wtf does that mean? To get more volume in your hair curl away from the face. I’ve had friends and strangers ask how I do my hair like this and figured I would share for those who also don’t know this simple trick.
Start out with the clamp of the iron facing outward.
Wind the iron around and curl as you usually would.
That's all. I hope I helped out at least someone. Doing this makes your hair look more pushed back, gives it a bit more volume and has a more modern look.

Easter Florals: OOTD
I am so stuffed from a delicious brunch while writing this. Good food is good and Easter Sunday is a perfect day for food. The weather was beautiful and perfect for today.

Favorite makeup under $10
High end makeup is great- except for the price. And drugstore make is great for the price but the quality sometimes lacks. My every day makeup routine is mostly high end but there are some drugstore products that I could not live without. Not to say that everything else from the drugstore is crap and not everything from Sephora is phenomenal.
I love this primer. I won't bore you with the details because I have a full review of this up. Check it out by clicking the link here. If you don't feel like reading that; basically this makes your skin look so smooth that it appears to have been gone over by a real-life photoshop retouching tool.
This is an oldy but a goody. I have been using this since I was 14 years old. It makes lining your eyes so easy. It has a rubber elongated cone shaped tip. You can get the straightest line with this. I love that it lasts all day but all it takes is a little water to remove it at night. Don't ask me how that is possible. If you are a beginner or a pro at liquid liner, pick this up.
Finally, the one thing high end can't even compete with; mascara. Drugstore mascara is so awesome because at most, they cost like $9. High end mascaras are crazy expensive and you have to throw them out after a few months.
I have also been purchasing Falsies since I was 15. If your eyelashes don't look amazing after a coat or two of another mascara, layer this on top. I don't love it on its own but just a simple primer underneath will do fine. This adds such great length and volume and has the perfect curved brush for getting every last lash.
Great Lash is a staple but if you've never tried the 'lots of lashes' version, you're missing out. The brush is heart-shaped and it gives amazing definition and length to your lashes. This is one of the cheaper mascaras but it is a million times better than the original that everyone has tried.
Finally a lash primer. This isn't something that everyone uses but totally should. There aren't too many and I think you can only find Hard Candy at walmart or online but its worth it. First of all, its called 'lash weave'. How great is that? This is a clear-white mascara with tones of little itty bitty fibers in it that cling to your lashes and make them fuller and longer. If you've never used a lash primer, try it unless you like short thin lashes.

Kylie Jenner look for less
Kylie Jenner is only 16 years old and her sense of style is impeccable. Living in the Kardashian household has definitely influenced her. She wore this outfit out in LA the day she got her hair cut. It has been super cold in NY lately so I put off recreating this outfit. No doubt Kylie's look may cost well over $1k. The total for mine comes out just around $65 but could easily cost less or maybe more depending on where you buy things.
For the skirt, I found this one from Buckle for $30 here or this one from ZooShoo for $22 here
I'm sure Kylie's leather jacket was real/$$$$. I found this from H&M for $50 here
Kylie's boots seem really simple but I couldn't find an exact dupe. I found a few similar from Forever 21. here, here, and here
You should be able to find a simple plain white t just about any where.
Put all of this together and you will look just like Miss Jenner.

Best blushes ever: ELF HD blushes
Holy shit these are the best liquid/cream blushes I have ever seen. If you read no further than this, know that I have never found any sort of product that has better pigmentation.
The HD blushes from ELF are seriously amazing. You really only need a pin sized drop of some of the color for both cheeks. Seriously. They stain your cheeks and blend amazingly. The packaging is quite larger and even with the increase in ELF prices, you will never ever need to repurchase. As you'll see in the swatches below, even after rubbing my hand with a makeup remover, I was still left with a faint color on my hand.
They cost $3 even on the website but all the prices of ELF studio have gone up to ~3.69 in my Target. (where I normally find ELF) If you're a reader of my blog, you already know how much I love ELF but these really took me over the endue with the brand and made me head over heels in love. Their studio blushes are already quite popular and known for being highly pigmented.
They currently offer 5 shades including a light, normal pink, peach/coral pink, bright neon pink, fuscia, and a deep berry.

Mixing seasons: OOTD
♡Today was a pretty chill day. I actually wrote a few posts, went to the gym, petted my dog, I'm doing big things. I love this floral crop top but on days when its cold, flannels are my favorite. You can never have enough flannel. My heart says its spring but my outfit says its winter or maybe spring.
